Local Chinese musical talent on show

Home-grown entertainers:
A couple of the performers singing a locally
composed song to a fully packed crowd last night
during the 'My Melody First Anniversary Mini Concert'
at RTB Dewan Raya in the capital.



THE composing and performing talents of some
10 local Chinese performers were put on show
yesterday night during a concert hosted by
Radio Television Brunei (RTB) which aimed to provide
a platform for these performers/composers to
showcase their abilities.

The "My Melody First Anniversary Concert",
had the primary objective of boosting the awareness of the
local Chinese song composing industry.

Lai Boon Keiwe, the head of Mandarin broadcast for
RTB's Pilihan Network said that the concert,
which was the first of its kind, was also held in celebration of
the "My Melody" Chinese musical segment which is on air
every Friday and Saturday at 4:15pm.

The segment which promotes originally and locally
composed Chinese songs was hosted to encourage
more people to be involved in song writing and music composing,
not to mention helping to scout and promote the local talents.
